What is spouse compatibility based on?
Vietnamese tradition weighs three factors: (1) the sexagenary signs (Can Chi) of both birth years — Tam Hợp (triple harmony), Lục Hợp (paired harmony) or Tứ Hành Xung (conflict groups); (2) the Five Elements of each nạp âm (Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth) and how they generate or overcome each other; (3) the house-direction destiny when choosing a home. This tool computes (1) and (2).
Do conflicting signs mean divorce?
Tradition treats Trực Xung (directly opposing signs like Tý–Ngọ or Mão–Dậu) as the worst pairing. There is no scientific evidence that such marriages fail more often — love and mutual understanding matter far more.
Should we marry if our elements clash?
Say the husband is Fire and the wife is Water — Water overcomes Fire. Tradition advises caution but never forbids the marriage; the clash can be balanced with home feng shui (direction, colours) and lifestyle.
Are same-sign couples compatible?
